Helping the plants grow

I have always wondered how our projections affected our lives. I've heard several theories about projections altering ones life course (this is kind of common sense though). I personally feel that projecting attracts spirits. To what extent does our projection effect the things around us?

I came upon a website on psychic research. It seems they had tried a plant experiment, similar to something I had read in a book called 'The Celestine Prophecy.' Basically, take a few plants, give them constant projections (in loving, neutral and negative tones) and measure their growth cycle in a given period. It's interesting that they claim the plants given positive energy grew to be fuller and more healthy.

Science: Pulling images from your brain

Recent studies suggest it may be possible to reconstruct images from a persons mind and display them onto a computer. Someday further it may also enable scientists to view a persons dream even as they are having them.

Scientists were able to produce images viewed by a person onto a computer by analyzing changes in their cerebral blood flow. Holding up flashcards, they were able to map the blood flow changes that occurred in the cerebral visual cortex. Basically, after mapping the blood flow, the computer crunched the data and learned to associate the various changes in brain activity with the different image designs.

As shown in the picture, subjects were shown flashcards of the letters N-E-U-R-O-N , and the system was able to display what the subject saw directly, based only on brain activity.

I find this highly interesting because someday we may actually be able to validate individual supernatural experience for further study. If we truly are able to someday recreate experiences for everyone to see, it would be one step forward for the serious and practical study of the supernatural.

Do ghosts have purpose?

The subject of Ghosts will continue to vex scholars and skeptics alike, drawing a line among us, separating us between the believer and nonbeliever. There are many questions we ask ourselves when trying to rationalize the presence of ghosts in our universe. One of the many questions we ask are...why?

Do ghosts have a purpose? Many stories and accounts seem to suggest that the ghosts had some sort of divine purpose. Common belief suggests that ghosts will linger in our world until they 'finish what they needed to', like avenge a death or bring a killer to justice. This just seems too much for me. I tend to think that the reasons ghosts are here is a bit more random, as if part of a system we do not understand yet. I do not think that ghosts are spiritual avengers bent on righting the wrongs they experienced in life. The human mind yearns for understanding. It is more comfortable to rationalize ghosts as having a purpose for their existence, perhaps in a way, making it easier to understand. Does everything have a purpose, a divine objective, or a certain role to play in their lives? Not necessarily. However, some situations defy all possible explanation. Take for example the various stories of ghostly foretelling that either saved a life or prevented a horrible accident. Could that be their divine mission, or just response born out of love and concern? Though this is an interesting type of experience, it is simply not the nature of every haunting.

We as human beings want to have purpose in our lives. Really though we are all just part of a cycle, specifically the life and death cycle. All we really need to do is live, breathe, eat, and reproduce, to further our species in this brutal cycle we call evolution. When we have run our course through life, we simply pass on. Everything after that belongs to the world of the unknown.

What is a ghost?

What makes up a ghost? Spiritual essence? Supernatural energy? Do we have a soul, and why would the souls of the dead linger on? Are ghosts just strong impressions we leave upon reality? Here is one, are ghosts residues of phenomenon that we are not aware of yet (future time travelers or perhaps aliens)?

If ghosts exist, what are they made of?

Why are you here?

In the natural order of life in our universe, everything is part of a cycle. Even the earth itself. Through time these cycles run their course, organisms adapt and evolve, as does our geography and climate. Time is measured through change.

But if ghosts are truly existing, then they should have a source. And if they have a source, what is it comprised of? Maybe some levels of existence aren't subject to change like everything physical. If that were a factor, it could exist forever, just simply being, waiting to react. Being that it is something we do not have the answers for yet, we are left to speculate and wonder.

So how do ghosts come about
? Perhaps there is a celestial influence. Perhaps it is a glimpse of purgatory. Maybe it is the trifling of angels and demons. Personally I feel that ghosts are mutations. There is a large majority of our brain that we don't use yet. Perhaps some people are unique in that during certain traumatic times in their lives, they are somehow bonded to certain places spiritually. Somehow, something happened to these people in life, and their cycle went differently. A part of them was separated from their body perhaps.

I'm always curious to hear other opinions.

The Ranch in Applegate

In the mountains somewhere in southern Oregon is a small town called Ruch. My mom's boyfriend was given a ranch from his dad when he had passed away some 10 years ago. They called it the 'Heart Ranch', I'm not sure why. I do know that it used to be a turkey farm about 40 years ago. However the soil had caught some type of chicken cholera, which killed all of the turkeys in ways similar to a plague.

It was a quiet place without many visitors. The house was rebuilt sometime in the 70's, but it was older than that. It sat on a 100 acre lot right by the Applegate river. It was a quiet place where I would spend hours reading. There were thick covers which fit over the windows during the winter, and with all of the trees casting long shadows it was a naturally dark place to live in.

I had always thought that the house was kind of different. It just gave me such a different feeling when I was all alone. I had heard from family that they had experienced something really weird there, like drapes being flown open, but it had happened just once, and no more. They had their thoughts. I found them interesting. I didn't sense anything particularly harmful.

There were several occassions which I felt were brief encounters. I had a lightswitch in my room that was circular, and you would turn it clockwise for the strength of light you desired. It would always be changing slightly, more and more or less and less. The occassional sound in the dark wouldn't bother me, but occassionally I would sense a chill for no reason.

This 'ghost' if you could call it that, I never saw. I just simply felt when it was around, feeding off of my energy, unintentionally. I reasoned that it was just feeding. Crazy-right? But it all made sense to me.

Man is composed of complex cells, which if broken down to the smallest known size, is comprised of energy in different vibrations. I learned that in physical science. And you can literally FEEL the presence of a good person, or the tensing around a threat. Do people exude vibes? Of course they do, in my opinion. But to what effect do our 'vibes' affect our lives? They certainly evoke reaction from people in our lives. Are our vibes some type of subtle energy projection, one that science has not yet been able to identify?

Some studies of the occult say that mastering your consciousness can unlock certain veils of the mystery of life. I certainly am no master, but I do have an open mind. If the spirit was feeding off of me, I wanted to get a response directly. I decided to set up a control, and set up two extremes. A deep seated feeling of love for my family and appreciation of what I have (which would be a positive vibe) , and letting out my natural fear of the unknown-exploring how much I can be afraid (which would be something naturally strong, different from love).

The ghost seemed to respond to love more, as if it were curious.

Crater Lake

I lived in a small town called Prospect, which is about 50 miles from the historic Crater Lake national park. Crater Lake is open to the public between May and October every year.

My best friend's Dad was the chief of maintenance for the company that ran the restaurant and lodge, who worked in cooperation with the park service. Sometimes we would go with him to the lake to play in the snow, which was usually between 10 to 15 feet high in the winter.

In the basement of the lodge is the center of operations for the maintenance crew. My friend and I once decided to go up into the lodge and have a look around. They had shut everything up for the season so it was basically empty. We turned on all of the lights and ran through the halls. I remember clearly running up a set of stairs and then entering the fourth floor hallway.

All of the lights were on and I looked down both sides of the hallway. On one side I caught a glimpse of a woman mopping the floors-and instantly I ran. I feared me and my friend would get caught meddling around the lodge. His dad would be furious if we ever got caught. I went back down the stairs and told my friend what happened, but he insisted we were the only ones who would be in the lodge.

We went back up and through the hallway again. Nobody there. It dawned on me that the whole place is carpeted. I think that was about the time I realized that I had seen something that was a bit more than natural. I don't remember any unnatural chill but I do remember not being able to talk and wanting to leave the hallway immediately.

I cant remember many points in my life when an experience put me in 'fight or flight mode' so quickly. I will always remember how that felt.

I worked at the park for a few years as soon as I was old enough. Every season people would come from all over the world to visit the deepest lake in the United States. I learned on a tour that the Indians refused to casually visit the lake, because it was a place of spirits. Sometimes you could feel the awesome natural forces just by watching the sun set, even if all you noticed was how beautiful it was.

Tourists galore visited the park, and among them have been paranormal investigators. It's pretty common. They come to investigate a certain room on the 4th floor (413) which is the subject of many accounts.

Now that I'm older and not afraid, I'd like to go back. But I don't think I'll ever get that opportunity again.
